WHITE-LABEL DISTRIBUTION

Best Music Distribution APIs for Developers

Building on a music distribution API? Eight platforms expose APIs for catalog ingestion, DSP delivery, and royalty data, but they differ sharply on what you can verify before signing: public documentation, sandbox access, published pricing, and DDEX support. We compared all eight on exactly those criteria.

OUR RECOMMENDATION

LabelGrid: The Most Accessible Entry Point

Revelator and SonoSuite require you to contact sales, schedule demos, and negotiate pricing before you can evaluate their platforms. LabelGrid lets you sign up today, read full public API documentation, and start building. API plans include sandbox access during onboarding.

With transparent pricing published on the website, a WordPress plugin unique in the industry, and DDEX ERN 3.8.2–4.3.2 compliant delivery, LabelGrid gives distributors everything they need to launch without the enterprise sales cycle. Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio delivery come included at no extra cost. Revelator charges $15 per track upload plus $0.50 per delivery for Atmos alone.

CONTENT PROTECTION

Your Music in the Age of AI

AI companies want access to music catalogs. Major labels are already signing licensing deals, and new AI platforms keep showing up. We’ve addressed this head-on in our Terms of Service, before most distributors have even thought about it.

AI delivery is opt-in and off by default. If AI DSPs become available, you pick which releases go where. Enable auto-delivery for new DSPs? AI platforms are still excluded unless you opt in separately.

Your distribution license covers delivery only. We send your content to the DSPs you choose. Nothing more. No broad “any purpose” language, no grey areas about how your music gets used.

Your music. Your terms. Your control.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

LabelGrid (api.labelgrid.com) and Revelator (api-docs.revelator.com) publish their API documentation openly. SonoSuite and FUGA do not state whether docs are public. Limbo Music, Audicient, and Eveara gate theirs behind sales contact or a demo.
LabelGrid includes a sandbox environment on every API plan, and the docs are public so you can evaluate the endpoint catalog first. None of the other platforms on this list document sandbox access publicly.
Published pricing: LabelGrid API plans start at $119/month (billed yearly), Revelator from $249/month, Limbo Music from €149/month, Audicient from $59/month plus a $250 setup fee. SonoSuite, FUGA, Eveara, and ToneGrid use quote-based or undisclosed pricing.
LabelGrid generates DDEX ERN 3.8.2, 4.3.0, 4.3.1, and 4.3.2 feeds and accepts DDEX import on API plans. Revelator (DDEX Full Member) and SonoSuite support ERN 4.3. FUGA is a DDEX Charter member via Downtown. Limbo Music runs ERN 3.8.2. ToneGrid claims ERN 4.3. Audicient mentions DDEX import/export without stating a version. Eveara makes no public DDEX claim.
Yes — every platform on this list offers some form of white-label. The differences are in the model: hosted branded dashboards (Audicient, SonoSuite, Eveara), API-driven builds (LabelGrid, FUGA, Revelator), or both. LabelGrid includes white-label on all API plans.
Five things you can verify in an afternoon: public documentation (can you read the endpoints before signing?), sandbox access, published pricing, DDEX version support if you have existing feeds, and webhook coverage for delivery events. A platform that hides all five behind a sales call is asking you to commit blind.
Yes. Webhook events cover delivery status changes, DSP approvals, takedown confirmations, and royalty imports, with signed payloads and automatic retries.
With LabelGrid, yes — via the REST API or DDEX import (S3 endpoint with automated validation, available on API plans), so no catalog re-ingestion is needed if you already produce DDEX feeds. Migration options on the other platforms vary; check each one directly.
