How LabelGrid Protects Your Catalogue

A catalogue is years of recordings, and the royalty record attached to them.

Two questions matter about anything that valuable: where it sits, and who can reach it. This page answers both.

THE CONTROLS

Where Your Data Lives

Customer data is kept under a set of controls. These are the ones that answer the questions customers ask most often about where a catalogue sits and who can reach it.

  • Where it lives. Data is hosted on EU and US infrastructure.
  • Encrypted at rest. Stored data is encrypted, not held in the clear.
  • Role-based access. Access is role-based and limited to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis. It is granted against a role, rather than being something everyone at LabelGrid has by default.

They are not the whole of how the platform is run, and the practices behind them are not something we publish in detail. The privacy policy sets out data handling, retention and customer rights in full.

BACKUPS

Backed Up Nightly

Data is backed up nightly, and a catalogue can be restored from those copies.

What comes back is the whole thing: the recordings together with the royalty record attached to them. That distinction matters, because a catalogue is not only audio: the royalty record is the earnings history attached to those recordings, and restoring one without the other would not put you back where you were.

HOW DISTRIBUTION WORKS

Why Delivery Records Stay

Sending a release to a store is not a one-off transfer. It opens a working relationship. The store holds the release, and LabelGrid stays attached to it for as long as it is live, handling takedowns, metadata corrections, and the reporting that pays you.

That is why release and delivery records stay in the system. They are not a copy kept for our benefit; they are what the relationship runs on. Without the delivery record there is nothing to reference when a store needs a change made.

BEFORE IT SHIPS

Checked Before Delivery

Every release passes automated validation and then a manual review before it reaches a store, so problems are found before delivery rather than after it. Both are included on every plan at no extra cost. Read how we review releases.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Customer data is hosted on EU and US infrastructure. Stored data is encrypted, access is role-based and limited to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis, and data is backed up nightly. Those are the controls customers ask about most, not a complete account of how the platform is run. The privacy policy sets out handling, retention and your rights in full.

Access is role-based and limited to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis. It is granted against a role rather than held by everyone at the company, so reaching your data requires a specific reason to have it.

Data is backed up nightly, so a catalogue can be restored from the most recent copy. What comes back is the recordings together with the royalty record attached to them, not just the audio.
